Ariana Wyatt, originally from Southern California, is a recent graduate of the Juilliard Opera Center. Ms. Wyatt has performed Micaela in The Tragedy of Carmen for Opera Omaha and was a young artist at the Florida Grand Opera where she covered Leila in Les Pêcheurs de Perles and Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare. She also joined Glimmerglass Opera to cover Cleopatra as a member of the Young American Artist Program. Other recent roles include Serpetta in Mozart's La finta gardiniera, Diana in Offenbach's Orphèe aux enfers, and Helena in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream for the Juilliard Opera Center; Flavia in Eliogabalo, Violetta in La traviata, and Isifile in Cavalli's Giasone for the Aspen Opera Theater; and Adina in The Elixir of Love for the Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Regional Tour.
Recent concert appearances include those with Steve Blier as part of the New York Festival of Song, Ravel's Shèhèrazade with the New West Symphony, a series of recitals for the Greenwich Music Festival, and Kurtag's Kafka Fragments with violinist David Halen for the Aspen Music Festival. Her oratorio credits include The Messiah with Charleston Symphony, Vivaldi's Gloria at Carnegie Hall, Haydn's The Creation for Davidson College, Stravinsky's Les Noces for the USC Chamber Choir, the Brahms' Requiem for the Bulgarian Youth Orchestra, and Bach's St. John Passion for the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra.
In 2004 Ms. Wyatt competed as a National Semi-Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera Nation Council Auditions on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera, having won first place
in the Western Region in 2003. She has also been a finalist at the Charles A. Lynam Vocal Competition, and a winner of the New West Symphony and Pasadena Opera Competitions. Ms. Wyatt earned the Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where she was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate for the class of 2001, and she completed the Master of Music Degree at USC in 2003. Ms. Wyatt joined the RMA faculty in 2010. She also teaches at Concord University and Virginia Tech University. |
