Marci Craig portraitMartha Craig graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Education from Radford University. While at Radford she studied classical guitar with Robert Trent and piano with Nitza Kats. She actively composed and studied with a diverse group of teacher/composers including Bruce Mahin. While at Radford she had the opportunity to have private lessons with renowned American composer Donald Erb and Russian composer/guitarist Nikita Koshkin. After completing her BM Composition and earning a Music Education degree obtaining a Collegiate Professional Teaching License Pre K-12, she has taught music through the public schools, grades K through 7th, including elementary, middle school guitar and choir. Mrs. Craig began her Suzuki Guitar studies with Suzuki Guitar pioneer Frank Longay attending the first International Suzuki Guitar Festival completing her Suzuki Book I training. She continued her Suzuki Book II training with Suzuki guitar teacher and trainer Bill Kossler who met and studied with Dr. Suzuki. In addition to teaching Suzuki guitar and composition she teaches music theory and musicianship. She has acquired unique training in teaching Music Theory using a creative and powerful curriculum called Music Mind Games. Mrs. Craig has attended two workshops by author and creator, Michiko Yurko. Music Mind Games are used in her private Suzuki Guitar lessons, and guitar group classes and Music Theory classes for pianists and string players. She received Kindermusik Training and actively teaches early childhood music classes. She joined Renaissance Music Academy in 2006, where she teaches Suzuki Guitar Lessons, Music Theory and Composition.
