Bryan Matheson head shotAs winner of the Ibla Grand Prize international competition in Italy, Bryan Matheson has performed in Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. Bryan has performed as guest violist with the Irish Sinfonietta Orchestra in New York City and with the Viva Vivaldi Chamber Orchestra. He has performed in the Ameropa chamber music festival in Prague and served as principal violist of the Festival Orchestra. As founding member of the Saturn String Quartet he has been heard in numerous concerts and on the premier recording of Matthew Barbre's String Quartet No. 1. For eight seasons Bryan was principal violist of the RMA Chamber Orchestra. As frequent soloist on both violin and viola he performed with the orchestra in numerous concerts in the southeastern United States and in Ireland, including performing in the prestigious West Cork Chamber Music Festival, twice for former Virginia Governor Mark Warner and on the orchestra's first CD. Bryan currently performs with the Classic Strings Duo, the Rainier Trio and the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. He is a faculty member with the Renaissance Music Academy and Virginia Tech’s Fine Arts Initiative.
